"Relieving boredom with tourists" proved costly

AK, who recorded these moments with his cell phone camera while using slang words directed at foreign tourists, shared the footage on his social media account with the caption, "I relieve my boredom with tourists." The images, shared on social media, quickly sparked a backlash.

He was taken into custody and sent to the courthouse.

The Marmaris District Police Department launched an investigation into the footage. AK, identified as working at a business in the district, was taken into custody by police the day before. In his statement to the police, he said, "I did it for fun; I had no ill intentions. I didn't realize it would spread this far." Following processing at the police station, he was referred to the courthouse.
